British rock 'n' roll icon Marianne Faithfull explores the dark side of pre-war Berlin on this album. Highlights include Faithfull’s interpretations of legendary hits like "Mack the Knife," "Boulevard of Broken Dreams", "Alabama Song" and Marlene Dietrich’s "Falling In Love Again”.

20th Century Blues features the music of composers and lyricists Kurt Weill, Bertolt Brecht, Noël Coward and Harry Nilsson.

20th Century Blues is focused on the music of Kurt Weill and Bertolt Brecht as well as Noël Coward, and was followed in 1998 by a recording of The Seven Deadly Sins, with the Vienna Radio Symphony Orchestra, conducted by Dennis Russell Davies.

20th Century Blues was released in 1996 on CD – and now is available for the first time on double vinyl.
